Description

As Porsche began to phase out the 911 3.2 Carrera in anticipation of the 964-generation 911, it developed the Speedster as a final special edition to see the model out. Produced between January and July 1989, the Speedster was intended to harken back to the famous 356 Speedster of the 1950s. It featured numerous throwback design elements such as a cut-down, raked-back windshield and a manually folding canvas top that resided under a hard-shell tonneau cover when not in use. Only 2,104 examples were built, with just 823 delivered to North America.

This 911 Speedster was sold new through Jack Daniels Motors Inc. of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, in May 1990. Finished in the fantastic color combination of Silver Metallic paint over Marine Blue leather, the car showed just 11,411 miles at the time of cataloguing. This well-equipped Speedster was specified with numerous desirable options such as a limited-slip differential, short gearshift lever, cruise control, and air-conditioning. According to a CARFAX Vehicle History Report on file, the Porsche remained with its original owner in Florida until 2013. It then moved between New York, Colorado, and California prior to being acquired by the consignor in 2022. Offered with books, tool kit, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and the original window sticker, this Speedster is an outstanding example of a sought-after, limited-edition 911.
