For the last "G Series" year, Porsche offered its customers a very exclusive version as a tribute to a legendary Porsche: the 911 Speedster. By adopting the design elements of the 356 Speedster of the 1950s, the windshield was lowered and a rigid double bossed hard top cover was installed, giving the car a particularly stylish shape. Unveiled at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show, the car went into production only in late 1988.
This Speedster was bought new in France by Mr. Boucabeille from Porsche turbo Tecnic in Tarbes. It sports a beautiful original color: Linen Grey Metalic (code 550). Registered then in Paris by its first owner in 1991, it was sold to its current owner in 1994 when it had only 17,000 km since new, by Sonauto, who had been maintaining the car since the beginning. Important art and sports car enthusiast, he paid particular attention to the maintenance of this car, reserved only for weekend getaways. This beautiful Speedster was maintained till 1998 at Sonauto, and then by a specialist from Carrières-sur-Seine, as can be seen by a complete invoice folder since 1994, as well as all technical inspections from the same period. The comprehensive documentation includes several expert reports from Christian Huet that we invite potential buyers to consult.
Very sound, in a beautiful original condition, and displaying only 72,537 km, it features several options: 40% self-locking differential, short gear lever, sport seats with vertical electric adjustment. The car comes with the tool kit, the electric inflator, the duplicate keys and the whole set of manuals. With just a little over 2,000 units built, it is certainly one of the rarest and most desirable of all 911s. A short test drive showed us that the example on offer is particularly pleasant and sound, and seems to have covered the years without any alteration.
