Simply one of the best examples of this highly desirable model available on the market today!

A collector’s dream!

The 911 Carrera 3.0 holds a unique moniker in the history of the 911 brand. It successfully combined elements of the 2.7 RS and the turbo-charged 930, of which the Carrera 3.0 shares an engine minus the turbocharger. This European exclusive model was only sold in 1976 and 1977. Characteristics are similar to the 2.7 Carrera, however the increased displacement pushed out 200 naturally aspirated horsepower. This gave the engine an increased torque curve, which allowed the Carrera 3.0 to out accelerate its 2.7 liter predecessor from 25-100mph by almost 4 seconds.

Being limited to the European Market, production numbers were slender with approximately 3,750 examples built total being sold in both targa and traditional coupe body styles. Handing and braking are improved over U.S. models, being lower, lighter and having stronger suspension components such as Koni shocks.

The 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Coupe featured here is one of only 896 left-hand drive coupe models built for 1977. Having been sold new in Belgium, it has Belgian equipment (as mentioned on its accompanying Porsche Certificate of authenticity) including a rear wiper, rear fog light and rear defroster for safety. Further distinguishment is gained from its lack of a sunroof, headlamp washers, and Carrera 3.0 front and rear spoiler package. Having lived most of its life in Europe until it was imported to the U.S. a few years ago it is a rare sight to see here in the states. Per the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity it still retains its original engine and optional 5-speed gearbox. This magnificent 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Coupe comes finished in its factory original color of Copper Brown Metallic with a Cork leather interior, a rare and desirable combination that is further enhanced by black Carrera side scripts and 15” Fuchs wheels. Showing only 81,204 km (50,458 miles), this spectacular example recently benefited from a $6,000 service and would make an excellent addition to any premier collection. Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013 and posting gains of 395-percent over the last 10-years.
