The water-cooled Porsche 991 (2011-2019) was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, superseding the 997 as the seventh generation of the neunelfer 'nine eleven'. Although it was evidently a 911, the car was revolutionary for the series, boasting more power, a lightweight chassis, improved weight distribution and handling, and a revised look. High-strength steel was utilised, alongside aluminium and some composites, reducing weight significantly. Created by Porsche’s Chief Designer, Michael Mauer, the first phase 991.1 (2011-2016) was available in fastback coupe, convertible, Targa top, and speedster body styles, as Carrera and S models, GTS, GT3, Targa, Turbo, and special editions. This diversity demonstrates the marque’s ability to specialise in one product and develop several variants depending on a collector’s preference for power, comfort, or handling.

Built on a new platform, the range was a wide body, with only the base Carrera 2’s having a narrower body. The new platform was the third since the 911’s introduction in 1963, extending the length of the 997 by 70 mm, with a 100mm wider wheelbase. Despite being slightly larger than its predecessors, the 991’s weight was reduced to 3,538lbs for the all-wheel drive Turbo equipped with the Porsche Doppelkupplung ‘PDK’ dual-clutch transmission. The PDK was inherited from the 997, with greater capacities and improved performance.

The Porsche 911 Turbo is arguably one the best sportscars that the marque has had to offer. During the late 1960s, the company planned to produce a car to comply with homologation regulations to qualify for the Group 4 ‘silhouette racing formula.’ They began experimenting with turbocharging technology on their race models, forcing more air and fuel into the engine’s combustion chamber to increase power; the resulting Turbo car rapidly gained popularity as Porsche’s top-of the range 911 model, throughout its production run from 1975 to 1989. With its origins in racing and superior power output compared to a naturally aspirated engine, the Turbo 911 was, at the time of its introduction, the fastest production car available in Germany.

The all-wheel drive 991 Turbo range was introduced in 2012 with a twin-turbo-charged 3.8L flat-six engine, generating 513hp and 457lb-ft of torque. 7-speed manual transmission was offered or optional 7-speed PDK. Many car publications have recorded the Turbo S attaining 100km/h in 2.6 seconds. The Turbo featured innovative technologies such as adaptive aerodynamics and rear wheel steering as standard. The Turbo cabriolet was introduced the following year. The 991.1 was produced until the second phase was introduced in 2016, when turbocharged engines were included on all models, not just the turbo. The second phase 991.2 was discontinued in favour of the 992 in 2019.

Our immaculate 2014 Porsche 991 Turbo Coupe boasts a beautiful Sapphire Blue exterior, paired with eye-catching red brake calipers and smart black leather interior. It features the coveted 7-speed dual-clutch transmission system, PDK, featuring manual and automatic modes. Traction control and handling is improved through Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Other desirable factory options include heated seats, touchscreen, CD player, and Bose sound system. With just two former owners and 40,000 miles, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a sought-after incarnation of the 911 Turbo, giving you supercar performance with daily driveability.
