Description

One of only 52 right hand drive C16 UK supplied examples and a very genuine car that has covered 59,000 miles in the hands of four owners, the last having owned it for 24 years of its life. An unusually unmolested RS in great and very original condition in all respects, it comes with a full and very comprehensive history that includes the original stamped service book and three large files of correspondence and invoicing.

As detailed in the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file, the factory finished the RS on 13th January 1992. It was finished in Grand Prix White with grey and black leather interior and was delivered new by JCT Newcastle on the 7th of February 1992, this date also being confirmed in the service book.

The original owner, a local regular customer and serial car enthusiast, kept the RS for two years, covering some 5,500 miles before exchanging it for a newer Porsche at the supplying dealer. During his tenure JCT serviced the car twice as confirmed in service stamps and invoicing. A letter on file from this original owner confirmed his enjoyment of the car, his regret at selling it and a great photograph of the then new Porsche next to his Ford GT40.

JCT Newcastle sold the car almost immediately to a second owner, also local, who retained it until June 1995, the mileage rising to 11,730 during this period. Again, all maintenance was covered by JCT as confirmed on file. He again sold it back to JCT Newcastle.

On 3rd July 1995, the last owner bought the RS having seen it for sale in JCT’s Sunday Times classified advert, the place to sell cars back then! Both the advert and his bill of purchase are on file. On this occasion he kept the car until 27th August 1999, the mileage rising to 46,000 miles in this period. It was used on the road as an everyday car at this time and was carefully maintained by Porsche specialists RSR Engineering as shown by service stamps and detailed in invoicing on file. The car was then exchanged for a 993 Turbo at JCT600 Newcastle, the dealer who supplied it and transacted each sale to date.

The fourth owner purchased the RS on 27th August 1999 and he kept it until the 7th of January 2002, during his ownership the mileage increased to 52,500 miles and as before the RS was maintained diligently by Gantspeed Engineering and Autofarm as indicated again by service stamps and invoicing on file.

In 2001 the third owner saw his much missed 964 RS for sale at Autofarm, indeed a copy of the advert is on file. He repurchased it immediately, the invoice and copious correspondence on file detail his second purchase. This owner, a stalwart of the Porsche Club and the owner of no less than 26 examples of the 911 over the years retained the RS until a few weeks ago when we purchased it. During his second tenure the car has led a quiet and cosseted life, indeed only 9,000 miles have been added in the last nineteen years. It is documented in the Porsche Club RS register and has been exhibited at a number of Porsche Club Concours events, at other times it has been carefully stored and as before maintained as per schedule.

Following purchase we have had the RS fully inspected, serviced and detailed. It remains in exceptional original condition and must be one of the best documented of the few UK cars with three files of history meaning there is only history from new with no mystery. It comes with all books in the correct wallet, tools and keys.
