Description

In April 1965 the production of the last variant of the immortal Porsche 356 designated “C” finally came to an end. The cabriolet offered here with its chassis number 162140 is one of the last examples built, only 25 more cars left the works afterwards. Probably delivered in Germany and registered there on the 1st of September 1964, the Porsche was imported into Switzerland towards the end of 1979 as indicated with the VIN (Stamm)-number entered in the car‘s registration. At one stage the 356 received a type correct exchange engine from a 1600 S coupe of the “B” series. This was found out during an extensive restoration which took place for the then owner in 1995. Despite this new fact, he remained faithful to his cabriolet for the next 16 years and finally sold it on the 21st October 2011 to the vendor. Over the last 13 years the Porsche has only been used for occasional summer outings and spent most of its time in storage. Currently the car is in good to very good condition and will be sold with the latest Veteran MOT from September 2022.
