Description

Restored and modified in tone with the 'Outlaw' movement coined by Rod Emory in California.

This 356A 1600 was bought new in Portugal in 1956. We believe, however, that this is a transition model, as it contains Pre-A elements, such as the pinched windscreen.

A 914 2.0 litre engine was fitted, together with a limited slip differential and dogleg 5 speed out of an early 911.

With some engine tweaks, such as Weber 40 carburators, uprated internals and exhaust it now puts out about 130 bhp.

There are also ventilated discs on all four wheels and Koni suspension.

The fuel tank is much larger than stock at 80 litres, mimicking those of the period road racing 356s.

Inside everything was reupholstered, there’s a rare period correct radio and Saint Christopher horn button on the steering. The seats mimic those of the 550 Spyder, as does the mirror on the left wing.

The car has also been converted to 12v power and a gel battery was fitted.
