Description

In 1958 the car was owned by a San Francisco dealer, Roger Sanger that in 1965 sold the car to Walling brothers, in Oregon. He told them that the car raced and won in California between 1955 and 1957.
The Brothers made a travel in Oregon with their Porsche Speedster (apparently painted in grey), and from the pictures in our posses we can see that the dashboard was red, the coupè seats had the headrest, and the wheels were white: the car did not have the official license plate yet.
One of this two brothers went to Vietnam, and when he came back home found the car totally restored, but as his mother and sister decided to do: with a metallic pink paint, red and yellow interior, typically “Summer of Love” combination.
This car will remain under Walling property until 2010/2015, when George Walling began to contact the “Porsche 356 American Registry”, asking for help in order to make a restoration on the car.
In 2015 the car was seen for sale in Porsche Club America website, sold by an American ex-driver an famous cars collector, named Robert Ames, from Portland: he offered a white Porsche 356 Speedster, chassis 80581, black interior and black soft-top.
From that moment, the car came in Italy, purchased by a dealer of Parma that declares the restoration.
Here there are the photos of the restoration taken from the forum of 356 Registry, posted by George Walling himself.
