Very nice, completely restored Panther J72 ‘’Beam axle’’ with Jaguar 4.2 litre engine and a much sought after overdrive! Of the J72, only 376 vehicles were manufactured from 1972 to 1986. Original delivered in Beverly Hills to a coach house and since 1993 in the Netherlands. Famous people like Michael Jackson and Prince Al-Waleed of Saudi Arabia owned a Panther J72 which was more expensive than the Jaguar E-type and the Porsche 911 Targa at the time. The Panther West Winds Car Company was founded in 1972 by Bob Jankel and manufactured unusual cars, often based on older models. The Panther factory was close to the Brooklands circuit in Surrey. The J72 was based on the Jaguar SS100 and could be supplied with 3.8, 4.2 or 5.3 litre Jaguar engines. This 4.2 L engine has been thoroughly revised and fitted with an electronic ignition, the gearbox with the overdrive was already revised. The entire interior upholstery has been renewed and a lot of effort went into heat and sound insulation. The body is entirely made of aluminium and is professionally painted in a two-tone red/blue metallic paint. Entirely rust-free and very sleek, the chrome is also in very good condition. Including tonneau cover, side windows and soft-top!You are more than welcome to view this car in our showroom and take it for a test drive before you place a bid. Please call to schedule an appointment prior to bidding, this to prevent possible disappointment. This vehicle can picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.
