Description
"The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by the relatively light weight of the car.
Although first registered in the UK in 1978, this MGB was manufactured in 1970. It is finished in red with a black interior and was purchased by the current owner in 1997. It had a complete rebuilt in 2012 including new brakes with copper lines throughout, new fuel tank and fuel lines also in copper, new suspension front and rear, a bare metal re-spray with the underneath sealed and painted in red. Everything was stripped and replaced or refurbished with the wheels shot blasted and the stove enamelled; it also has new chrome bumpers and side strips. We are advised by the vendor she drives well with everything operating as it should. Supplied with a V5 registration document, this little MG B Roadster is offered at no reserve."
