Description

A magnificent 1958 MG-A in excellent condition!

Vehicle fully restored from the chassis up by a professional workshop.
Stripped to bare metal, the defective sheet metal parts were replaced, the hollow areas and the chassis were treated, after the bodywork had been exposed, special treatment was applied to the aluminium, primed and painted "Red-Orient" as when it left the factory.

New front disc brakes, 6 new chrome plated Dunlop-Rudge wheels (the car's 4 Continental tyres have driven 7500 km, and the two spare tyres are new).
The water radiator has been cleaned and painted by a specialist, the water pump is new.
New expansion tank, oil cooler, a more powerful fan, not visible in the photos (no overheating, 70°/ 90° on average).

New sun visors and small side window deflectors, rear view mirrors, only the sliding windows have not been redone, their rubber seals are worn.

A 5-speed gearbox improves comfort, speed and fuel consumption (a 4-speed gearbox will be supplied disassembled, as well as practically all other replaced parts).

The 1500cc engine was fully rebuilt by a professional, new crankshaft, pistons, valves, bearings, valve guides, camshaft, flywheel, piston rings, cylinder head, and cylinder head cover (aluminium).
New electronic ignition, aviation hoses, carburettors rebuilt, all worn brass parts replaced, top of the range fuel filter glass bowl.
New starter, starter cables, wire and cable grommets, choke, heater box and valve (the heating works!).
The speedometer is in km/h and not in mph, the oil/water gauge is new, the fuel gauge is new and the tank was drained and cleaned.

The headlights and fog lights are new, with gravel guards. Stainless steel Veronique AMCO luggage rack, with a recess that fits the spare wheel so that it does not hit the boot when opening it, the wheel is fitted on a Rudge spindle, screwed on with a chrome plated MGB nut.

The door locks, rubber seals, door edge guards and backrest seals as well as the carpets are new.
The brass and leather hammer, the jack and the screen are present.

Invoices, documentation and a file on the restoration are available. This Classic Car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button.
