Description

We sold a lot of MGA's in nearly four decades and have always proceeded according to the unwritten rule that we apply for every car, it must be so good that we actually want to keep it ourselves. It is obvious that we are huge enthusiasts, but of course we also want to supply our customers the best cars. However, it is fair to say that we have been seriously in doubt whether we should first enjoy this sublime MGA 1500 for a while or put it on sale immediately. So it has become the latter, because we also love to see others enjoy a British top classic.

We think everyone agrees that the smooth lines, not disturbed by all kinds of profiles and moldings, are really stunning. The MGA was far ahead of its time in terms of styling and is still today an unrivaled and very attractive classic car in its class. The technique is simple and reliable and is very easy to operate. The steering is nicely direct, which of course is part of its sporty character. The 1500 cc. engine has no trouble at all to move the only 980 kg. MGA weighing and the 4-speed gearbox can be operated with one finger. Everyone can drive it and feels immediately familiar with the beautiful convertible.

The first sight says the connoisseur enough: super-tight sheet metal with good fittings and perfect paintwork already ensures the first satisfied smile. Looking further, the perfect finish is noticed down to the smallest detail. The chrome, the beautiful green leather interior, the instruments, etc.: everything has been done to ensure the restoration at the highest possible level. We already see you thinking "but it can never be possible to restore a car at this level and then sell it again with a profit". Totally agree. At an hourly wage, what a restoration company have to charge for a to z restoration, the price of such MGA is indeed much higher than the market value. So not many people do that. However, the story of this MGA is slightly different. A little "best of both worlds" if you like. This means the knowledge of a specialist combined with the hobby and leisure of a hobbyist.

Commissioned by the owners of this MGA, all sheet metal work, painting and the most important technique such as engine, gearbox, carburettors and electrical system have been carried out by a specialist in classic British cars. The further dismantling and assembly, with minuscule precision, was done entirely in-house by the owners, two retired brothers and both blessed with two right hands. Supplemented with a lot of free time, their love for English classics and the necessary experience, resulted after a few years of hard work in an excellent, completely newly restored, yet affordable MGA. Then why did they sell the car again? Because they have been restoring cars for decades and enjoy that work even more than driving them. In addition, we also had the impression that it was important that there was no place to take their two faithful german shepperd dogs for a tour ... We fully understand that.

So we are very happy that we received a call from them and managed to get our hands on the car. The brothers can now look forward to a new restoration project and we can offer you a just run-in (1081 km) MGA 1500 MK 1 Roadster at a competitive price and which is of the highest level in terms of overall quality. The car has a Dutch registration and comes with photos of the restoration and an original Heritage Certificate. what more do we want? Admire and experience the great driving of course. And that can be arranged quickly if you contact us.
