The 300 SE Coupé was delivered to the DBNA company in South Bend (USA) on March 26, 1964. Features include rare individual rear seats, air conditioning, a steel sunroof, and a modern version of the Becker Mexico radio.

The vehicle underwent an extensive full restoration in 2006 in Germany, regardless of the costs involved. In the process, the entire technology as well as the body was completely overhauled. Originally in light ivory with a red interior, the 300 SE now presents itself in a beautiful beige gray metallic (728) with a leather interior in cognac. Air conditioning was also retrofitted, which, along with the generous windows and sunroof, makes for relaxed driving even in high temperatures.

After the restoration, the coupé was moved only sporadically, but regularly. Therefore, it still shows in immaculate condition today, which is confirmed by an expert's report from 2019 with a grade of 1.

History of the series
The W 112 series is based on the virtually identical body of the W 111 series, but stands out with a large amount of chrome trim. From 1962, following the demise of the 300 d "Adenauer" series (W 189), it was the only model to represent Daimler-Benz's upper luxury class for a short time. The coupés were technically the same as the saloons, but unlike them they had a lower roofline and no real "tail fins".

Technically, the W 112 had a number of differences from its smaller counterpart: it adopted the W 189's six-cylinder engine with mechanical intake manifold injection and 160 or later 170 hp, a four-speed automatic transmission newly developed by Mercedes, an air suspension developed with Bosch and power steering for noticeably increased comfort. This set new standards in the luxury class, but also had its price: a sedan was available from 24,500 DM as a short version, but this could quickly increase to over 40,000 DM.

In 1967, production of the W 112 series coupes and cabriolets came to an end; they were replaced by those of the W 111 series, which continued to be produced until 1971.
