This model is one of the most prestigious cars made by Mercedes. It was designed in association with McLaren to make it one of the most brilliant supercars of its time. It was equipped with a carbon structure and aluminum was widely used for the suspension components. Under the hood was a formidable 5.4-liter V8 supercharged engine, prepared by AMG and developing 626bhp. Connected to a sequential "AMG Speedshift" gearbox, the car is capable of 336 km/h, while acceleration time is an amazing 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The manufacturer designed a spectacular bodywork mixing aggressiveness with elegance, with the fenders and lateral exhausts reflecting the influence of competitive racing machines. The scissor doors and the cockpit managed to combine sport and luxury, thanks to very sophisticated aesthetics and quality materials.
The car on offer was registered for the first time on June 16, 2005. It was intended for the European market and was delivered in the UK. Its electronic maintenance booklet shows that the car has benefited from regular care within the network. Its current owner, a talented racer based in Monaco, acquired the car beginning of 2017. The car has hardly been used for three years, and in May 2017 a complete overhaul was undertaken at the Mercedes dealership in Valenza, Italy, for an invoice of over €10,000, including the replacement of the four tires. It has covered around 29,000 km today and is in an exceptional condition. The body, in a deep black, has no notable defect, and the magnificent red leather upholstery has retained its beautiful appearance from the early days. The dashboard's aluminum fittings are in an impeccable condition and the overall state of conservation of the car is a testimony to the attention and care taken by the previous owners. It will be delivered with its set of two keys and its logbooks. The SLR, a collectible model already, is an important car in the history of Mercedes-Benz. The example we are offering, recently serviced and in an excellent condition, will not fail to seduce enthusiasts of high performance cars.
