There is only one way to describe this 1985 Mercedes-Benz R107 380SL and that is; understated stylish. The grey exterior finish is complimented by the grey upholstery and carpets and the grey/black dashboard. The car is very good condition. It has had an easy life in the Californian sun with only 28,250 miles on the clock. The car reflects the above fully. The seats are as firm as the day the car left the factory, the leather shows no signs of wear and tear whilst having developed a light patina. Every sticker is in its correct place and they are still perfectly legible. Inspecting the car underneath reveals it has never slept outside. The car stands on iconic bottle cap rims which are also in prime condition. The spare wheel also has one of those bottle cap hubs. The fine bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The paintwork is in good shape. The interior trim has been very well maintained. The carpets look as good as new and all switching gear has no signs of use. Not only did the first owner specify a very stylish colour combination but also a few nice options. What to think about the Climate control, Cruise control, and, for its time, very advanced Becker Grand Prix Electronic radio. Mercedes-Benz printed the manuals for the various options on individual cards, including that for the radio. The metal Mercedes-Benz “Data plate” is present. This Mercedes-Benz is from a time when their engineers ruled the roost, everything looks and feels as if will last a least 100 years. The hood also, of course, works perfectly and is in a very good state. The 3.8 Litre V8 engine has ample power to propel this stately German two-seater forwards. The V8 develops 215 Hp coupled to a supple 4-speed automatic. The first owner did not specify the small rear seat, which means there is more than enough space for luggage in this SL. The original car wallet is present as well as a Carfax rapport confirming its low mileage and accident free status. In short a brilliant Mercedes-Benz R107 380SL in exception condition and fantastic colour scheme. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975!
