Description

German delivered and long term owners. The SL280 is a timeless classic.

Park it for a beautiful hotel or take it on a trip through the country, this car look great everywhere it goes. The straigth six engine is made for life. Just give it love and attention and it will run forever.

A classic car for every day or do you want a car that you can get out of your garage on a nice sunny day without a worry, this is the car for you. Proof of that is the stable rise in prices in recent years.

This 280SL was delivered in Germany and came to the Netherlands in 1993 and only had 2 other owners ever since. Over the years it was well looked after and driven regularly.

Exterior:

The car has undergone an older restauration. It was repainted and reupholsterd.
Solid blue paint suits the car really well and the wheels and tires are in good condition. The car is rust free and the panal gaps are a testement of Mercedes build quality.

Interior:

New upholstry was fitted to the car and the back seats have been altered to fit more luggage. The original seats are deliverd with the car and can easily be replaced. By doing so you get a great 2+2 convertible for a family with small kids. The dails and buttons all function as we come to expect from German cars.

Driving:

The six cilinder engine has enough power to comfortably cruise and keep up with the modern traffic. The automatic 4 speed gearbox makes it smooth cruising car.
Steering the SL280 is a joy and the view over the bonnet is truly amazing. The R107 is a very good combination of classic looks and modern reliability.
