This 280 SL was imported to Germany from Charleston (USA) in June 2011. According to research, the vehicle had previously been used in the neighbouring state of Georgia for a long time.

The vehicle was imported to Germany in 2011, it was cleared and received a German registration as well as a classic car approval (so-called “H” plate).

The SL was driven regularly from 2011 to 2016 and then decommissioned by the owner due to illness.

We have carefully brought the vehicle back to life and, among other things, removed the air conditioning that was mounted in the USA and was no longer working.

The SL is in neat condition now.

Flaws:
- Corrosion on the underbody (see photos)
- Interior partly worn
- Upper decorative strip on the left and right not original
- The chrome trim on the front right mudguard is missing

The engine starts perfectly, the gearbox shifts properly. Nevertheless, a full maintenance is necessary.

The vehicle was evaluated on 13.3.2012 and received a grade 2-. The SL is no longer in this condition due to the flaws listed above.

The vehicle is auctioned on behalf of its owner, the collector, who has lost the vehicle registration document. Proof of customs clearance is also available, as well as a certificate of non-objection from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrtbundesamt)/registration office – the vehicle can also be registered again with these documents.
