Description

Launched in 1963 at Geneva, the W113 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL effectively replaced the 300 SL and 190 SL in one stroke. Its crisp, Paul Bracq-penned bodylines bore a strong family resemblance to the other Mercedes-Benz models, and it revolutionized automotive design with comprehensive built-in safety features and its removable Pagoda hardtop. The 250 SL, launched in late 1966 and built through 1967, was an important update with its enlarged 2.5-liter engine, improved seat belts, a collapsible steering column, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes.

This exceptionally correct and striking 250 SL built in October, 1967 clearly benefits from an exacting restoration performed by European Mercedes-Benz marque experts including a small group of former staff members from Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. Following the restoration’s completion in November 2014, the 250 SL was delivered to Essen, Germany, where it joined the Mercedes-Benz exhibit at the 2015 edition of the world-famous Techno-Classica show. A highly desirable manual-gearbox model, this stunning 250 SL is equipped with a Pagoda hardtop only (no soft top) and a Becker Europa radio, with tools and the owner’s manual in a pouch. Featuring original colors and a stunning interior, plus the manual gearbox, this low-production 250 SL is a spectacular example and marks an incredible opportunity for Mercedes-Benz collectors and marque enthusiasts everywhere.
