The Mercedes-Benz W113 “Pagoda" is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed in Stuttgart. Our one has been restored. The case at hand is a manual 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL Pagoda. It is a matching numbers car and still bears her original colour scheme of “Papyrusweiß” and black leather interior trim. The previous owner bought the car from an American architect in 1999. At that time the Pagoda had lost some her lustre but was the perfect starting point for turn her into a lovely car again. Straight after arriving in Germany the car underwent a full restoration. During this process the American bumpers and lights were ditched and the door coverings and counters converted. The previous owner enjoyed the car until 2003, after which, because of time constraints, he put her in a Mercedes-Benz specialist showroom. The car featured there as an eye-catcher until 2015. After such a period of inertia a full mechanical overhaul of the SL was the order of the day. The paintwork and interior trim were as pristine as the day it entered the showroom. As far as the mechanical aspects were concerned, nothing was left to chance. The engine and suspension were both completely inspected. The extensive documentation available shows that all tubes, the clutch and pressure group, the water pump, brakes, suspension bushes and rubbers, all fluids and the four tyres were replaced in order to get the Pagoda back in top form. Five years later this effort still pays off. The Pagoda drives superbly. The engine runs a treat and is particularly powerful and the transmission is smooth and precise. This Pagoda has not just got a fine character, it is also quite a looker! The very fine bodywork has correctly aligned body panels. The hood is perfect and has an all-round seal when shut. The paintwork is in good order with minimal signs of use. The interior trim is in such good condition that you would be forgiven in thinking it had just rolled out of the factory and that include the carpets too. The chassis is of course in top condition and completely rust-free. In short, this is a very nice restored Mercedes-Benz 250SL Pagoda in the best colour scheme there is!
