Only 4945 units of this Mercedes-Benz convertible were manufactured in 1964. The Mercedes-Benz W113 series was produced from 1963 until 1971. The W113 replaced the R121 (W121 BII) in 1963 and was succeeded by the R107 SL-class in 1971. The chief designers were Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi.

The 230 SL (1963-1967), the 250 SL (1967) and the 280 SL (1968-1971) were available with manual or automatic transmission.

This European version is in very neat condition. The car starts immediately and idles nicely at 800 rpm, it brakes properly. This car has always been lovingly maintained which is really noticeable. The chrome is in very neat condition, as is the lacquer. The car was originally delivered in Germany and then exported to the US, however, the car was left completely original (km speedometer, Euro bumpers and headlights).

The car was refurbished some years ago, technically as well as optically, and fitted with a completely new exhaust system. So the engine bay looks very fresh and neat. This EURO Pagoda has matching numbers.
