At launch, the W126 range consisted of seven models, including four sedans and three limousines. The sedans were already authentic status-symbols for their elegance, finishes and rich equipment.
At the time of its launch, the 500SE was the flagship version, equipped with a 5-litre V8 engine.

This 126.036 was delivered with a sunroof in the classic silver colour; the paint is in good condition, with some signs of normal use.

It was auctioned on 12 April on Catawiki; the buyer did not complete the purchase and did not view the car; he was suspended from Catawiki and the car is being offered again at auction.

The gaskets, finishes and details are of high quality, as could be delivered only by a Mercedes of those years.

The interior is preserved completely original and in beautiful condition, with the typical ice grey fabric
and the velour carpet: a real living room with absolute comfort on board, which is perfectly in line with the tradition of the 3-pointed star.

The chassis and underbody are solid with signs from normal use; the car has always been in central Italy and used for not even 5000 km a year as a sedan for a local entrepreneur’s long trips.

The Mercedes 500 SE was able to establish itself in the flagship market, where it became one of the reference sedans for its stylistic peculiarities and mechanical innovations.

Mechanically the car is in working order and can be driven; the engine is powerful and the gearbox and brakes work; however, the car has been used little during the last two years due to the Covid, and the technical inspection expired in April 2020. Some normal maintenance may be necessary at the discretion of the new owner.

The feeler gauge test was carried out on the body and showed no major accidents (as shown in photos).

In April 2020, the technical inspection expired. It is a direct purchase from the previous owner and normal maintenance may be required at the discretion of the buyer.
