Description
1985 Mercedes Benz 230GE Cabriolet
The 1980s predecessor to today’s popular G-Wagon, the 230GE was developed in conjunction with the Austrian Steyr-Daimler-Puch group in the late 1970s, initially for military use.
The more refined 230GE was launched at the 1982 Torino Auto Show, featuring an upgraded grille, more comfortable front seats, wider tires and fender flares, making it a true, road-going version of this sought after modern classic.
This 230GE is a short wheelbase cabriolet version powered by a Mercedes M115 2.3L inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission, driving 125hp to all four wheels. The car is equipped with a dual-range transfer case, and locking front and rear differentials
The car has been recently repainted in light olive matte and has beige vinyl seats which have been fully reupholstered. It features a black vinyl soft top, period correct Becker Europa AM/FM radio, VDO clock, the iconic four-spoke Mercedes-Benz steering wheel and has been refitted with new 265/70 R15 tires on 5-spoke silver alloy wheels.
The car has recently undergone a light refresh and detailing, and is now in impeccable visual and operating condition to be enjoyed by its next owner, showing only 86.000 km on the odometer
