Description
"Mercedes-Benz introduced the 'E-Class' to the market in 1985 with the cabriolet version available from 1991. The W124 series was designed to last many miles with awards actually presented and received for high mileage versions. Much of the 124's engineering and many of its features were advanced automotive technology, incorporating innovations that have been adopted throughout the industry. It had one of the lowest drag coefficients of any vehicle at the time due to its aerodynamic body which included plastic moulding for the undercarriage to streamline airflow beneath the car reducing fuel consumption and wind noise. It had a single windscreen wiper that had an eccentric mechanism at its base extending the wiper's reach to the top corners of the windscreen. The coupés and convertibles had optional rear headrests that would fold down remotely to improve rearward visibility when required.
This handsome and well equipped Mercedes certainly looks the part in the classic colour combination of metallic blue and cream leather. One of the few convertible models to offer the practicality of four usable seats, making this Mercedes is as usable as she is desirable. This E220 Sportline convertible is presented to auction with a V5C registration document and the vendor informs us it will also have a 12 month MoT test certificate."
