Now established in the luxury car market thanks to the successful 300 model produced from 1951 to 1962, the Stuttgart company decided to replace it with the 600 from September 1963 onwards. It is the most impressive limousine ever put forward by the manufacturer and mechanically, the most elaborate considering the level of technology available at the time: 6.3-litre V8 with injection offering 51m/kg of torque and 250hp (DIN), tyre assisted braking like the suspensions and hydraulic sprawling system which activates all adjustments of the seats, windows, opening and closing of doors, including sunroof, boot lid if needed, fuel flap, etc…
Comfort elements could not be more complete with the automatic heating and ventilation control (dual zone) and the final touches (leather upholstery, chromed embellishments and varnished wood consoles in the front and rear) are beyond all criticism. The 600 came in two wheelbases under three designs, including a four-door limousine version with a 3.20m wheelbase that we are offering here. This particular example has been owned by the CEO of Lesieur oils and joined the collection in 2013. It has a superb midnight blue livery with high quality lacquer, while the interior is covered with light brown wool. It has thick floor mats reminding us of the bodywork's colour, an optional sunroof above our heads and facing us, a Becker Grand-Prix car radio, not to forget a mileage displaying 32,737 km. A general overhaul was carried out in 2014 for more than €5,000 (the car has since travelled 3,000km approximately). The barely used Avon tyres with white sidewall were replaced in 2015. This gorgeous luxury limousine will be a dilemma for its future owner: either to sit comfortably at the back in total luxury to taste a Scotch or, to take a seat behind the wheel to enjoy the driving experience that this flagship vessel provides.
