The Mercedes 500 SL (R107 series) that we are offering is one of the last produced before being replaced by the next generation. The last example left the factory in August 1989, which was exposed at the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart, and this one is preceded by just a few months. In addition, it is in a very desirable configuration, the 5.0-liter V8 enjoying all the improvements made by the manufacturer. It features larger discs, four-piston calipers, and improved suspension that was introduced in 1986.
Purchased directly from "Kundendienst" Mercedes on 20 November 1989 by a Dutch client, the original invoice (included with the car) mentions the hue as "Rauchsilber Metallic" with leather interior in "Brasil", a DM 3,280 option at that time. It has other options such as cruise control, a powered antenna, folding armrests, tinted glass and automatic air conditioning (for an additional price of DM 3,820). The total bill for the car went up to DM 111,785. Other documents indicate that the 500 SL moved to Netherlands just after its purchase and has remained there, despite having had a German owner for a short period. At that time, the car was stored in the workshop of the first owner and was rarely used by the second, mainly during the summer months. This is what explains the extremely limited mileage displayed by the meter: 7,573km.
This 500 SL comes with a file specifically provided, including invoices and maintenance certificates confirming its low mileage. In 2011, the fuel supply system was completely cleaned by a Mercedes service agent in Germany. Soon after this, an expertise indicated the value of the car at € 75,000, while stating that it was now in perfect condition. Much more recently, the car was brought to the "Kundendienst " Mercedes Kamp- Lintfort for its 10,000km service. Thus, this 500 SL is undoubtedly the best 500 SL 107 series available on the market.
