Unbelievably low mileage car
Very rare tropical equipment
This Mercedes 300 C Adenauer was ordered at the Singen Mercedes dealership, Bölle, Vollmer & Co, with special tropical equipment which included adjustable suspension, a larger radiator, curtains, rear window blinds, outer temperature gauge and an extra external search lamp.
The first owner was a German couple to whom the car was eventually confiscated in the 1970s by the Swiss authorities due to their illegal activities. Then, the car was sent to Autohaus-Singen in south Germany where it was regularly maintained by Herr Sachs. In 1971 it was sold to a Herr Brachert when it had covered about 8,000 - 9,000 km from new. In 1978 the car is sold again to a Mr Happle, and then the odometer showed 19,000km. The current owner, a Swedish enthusiast, purchased it 28 years ago. He brought it back to Stockholm and has hardly used it for the past three decades as the car has only covered 2,000km since his purchase. The car is today in an unbelievably original nice condition, even retaining the little papers stickers on the inner door opening mechanism explaining how to open the doors. With its unusual African special equipment, this Mercedes 300 C Adenauer in original condition, as it was when it left the factory, is an opportunity not to be missed.
