In 1959, the press discovered with interest the newest model of the Mercedes-Benz range, the W111, which was to ensure the renewal of the brand. Its classic line conceded to American fashion by incorporating fins that enhanced the rear wings. For the 220 version, three engine options were available, the top of the range powered by a 120bhp 6-cylinder engine with fuel injection, such as the one on offer.
Registered on January 29, 1963, this sedan joined the collection in 2013. It features a particularly sober and elegant presentation, since its body is in a shade of graphite grey (original 190G color), while the top is glossy black. Everything was repainted in 2014, as can be seen by the invoices. The body alignments are good, as is the chrome, which shows a beautiful shine. When you sit inside, you can't help but be in awe of the superb interior, upholstered in original red leather, only the driver's seat has been redone. The dashboard is completed with a vintage Philips car radio and the odometer reads 1611km. Fitted with Michelin tires, which show little use, this 220 SE was the subject of an expert report in 2019, which indicates that the mechanicals have been completely overhauled and confirms the good general condition. Would you like to go on a family vacation in a historic vehicle, without sacrificing comfort and reliability? This 220 SE is the ideal one.
