The "Classic" Range Rover in our auction sale is one of the very first series A, as it is the 115th example manufactured in 1971. Originated from Switzerland, it was re-imported to the UK in 1972 where it has only known a few owners. Included with the car is an extremely detailed file retracing its whole history and specifications with supporting documents. Our Range was partially restored between 1994 and 1998, it was then featured in several publications between 2002 and 2003 when it belonged to a major automotive editor, before being completely restored from 2012 onwards. This restoration which lasted nearly three years was entrusted to English Land Rover and classic car restoration specialists: "Dunsfold DLR" and "Mitchell Motors". The work carried out was very meticulous and everything was reviewed: bodywork, painting, mechanics, running gear, upholstery… Details of the work undertaken with respect to the authenticity of this Range are available in the file, supported by invoices worth over £40,000 and numerous pictures. It has only traveled a few hundred miles since the end of the repair work and is therefore in excellent condition. It now has a mileage of 93,970 miles and it had a small standard service in November 2019. In its "bahama gold" colour combined with "palomino" interior as its original configuration, this Range Rover is a fabulous opportunity to acquire a gorgeous first series model, the most sought-after of this automotive icon.
