Description

As the last Lancia model designed by the company’s engineers before the Fiat takeover in 1969, the Fulvia delivered outstanding power-to-weight, handling, and braking, and ruled European rallies and hill climbs by the late 1960s. This performance is all the more startling, given the Fulvia was considered a prototype until finally gaining FIA homologation in 1969. One of the most successful Fulvia pilots was Sandro Munari, Il Drago (The Dragon), who captured the 1967 Italian Rally Championship at the wheel of a Lancia Fulvia Coupe and won legions of fans with his all-out driving style. Munari scored many more wins with Lancia through the 1960s and 1970s, plus outright victory in the 1972 Targa Florio with Ferrari.

This compelling 1971 Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1.3 S (Sport) is a wonderful tribute to Munari and co-driver Piero Sodano, with its memorable period livery and a comprehensive mechanical restoration for road use. The sporting interior compartment is essentially factory stock, featuring a wood-grain dash and factory steering wheel, supportive bucket seats, a console-mounted shift lever, useful instrumentation, and added competition seat belts. While looking every part the 1970s rally car, including handsome Cromodora magnesium alloy racing wheels, a quick-release fuel filler, and A/N-plumbed fuel cell, this Fulvia is offered in proper road specification. Sure to garner admiration everywhere it is driven, this 1971 Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1.3 S will certainly deliver a wonderful driving experience, con brio!
