Description
"Built with Jaguar's written permission, the Aristocat uses all Jaguar components housed in a steel spaceframe chassis. For ease of build the Aristocat uses the XJ series suspension, resulting in the car being five inches wider than the XK120 or XK140, but only one inch wider than the XK150. The additional width, added down the centre of the car, allows for a more spacious cockpit and boot than the originals and drivers of well over six feet can be easily accommodated.
This example is offered in Old English White with a contrasting red interior and presents in good order throughout. In 2003, the Aristocat was restored by Jaguar specialist, Paul Roach, a full retrim was commissioned and an engine rebuild was completed, the costs totalling circa £30,000. The rebuilt 4.2 litre XK engine is coupled to a Moss gearbox with overdrive and comes with upgrades including an XJ6 independent suspension system and twin circuit disc brakes all round. In very good driving order, we are informed this Aristocat fires up on the button and runs extremely well. The exhaust note is modest at idle but clearly, makes all the right noises when ‘on song'. Throughout the current vendors 13 year ownership a comprehensive history file has been collated which includes various sundry invoices for maintenance work as well as invoices for the retrim and engine rebuild. Also supplied is the current MoT test certificate valid until 15th July 2020 and the UK V5 registration document.
