Description

Chassis No. S 836465 DN

Engine No. VA 1091-8

Body No. J 10503

The Jaguar XK 150 fixed head coupe offered here is an MC model, equipped with the sought-after 220 bhp version of the optional larger 3.8-litre engine, as well as 16-in. chrome wire wheels, fog lights, and aluminized dual exhaust; this particular example was also specified with factory-installed overdrive. It was formerly owned as early as 1971 by Steve Armstrong of Concord and Clayton, California, who retained the car until October 1985 before selling it to Dave Puterbaugh of Benicia, California. Original California registrations from both ownerships are included in the history file, as is a note from Mr. Armstrong dating the transaction.

Restored some years ago, with several photographs and a list of the work on file, the car is finished in an appealing combination of Carmen Red with tan leather upholstery, Everflex door panels, and red Wilton carpeting. Examination shows that the car retains its original chassis plate as well as the original engine, with numbers-matching block and head, all as per the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, which also confirms these to be the original colors. Additional accessories include a Talbot racing side-view mirror and a badge bar, while the chrome wire wheels are shod in Pirelli tires. At the time of cataloging, the car had recorded 53,048 miles. It is accompanied by an original tool roll and spare 16-in. wheel, still shod with its original Dunlop tire.

This is a most attractive, rakish example of the XK 150, in one of its hottest forms.

Titled as 1960
