In 1957, a major fire raged through Jaguar's factories, seriously damaging the XK140 moulds of the coupé and convertible bodies and destroying those of the roadster. The car manufacturer decided to make modifications and introduce a new model called the XK150. This car was initially produced in the two versions known as FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) and DHC (Drop Head Coupé), and after 1 year, the OTS (Open Two Seater) was added. In the first two models, seats were installed at the rear, which allowed to carry two more people. This luxury sports car was reminiscent of the XK140 in spite of the decisive modernisation work. The windscreen had become panoramic and in one piece while the bonnet was widened and extended. The front end was more sloping and aerodynamic. The engine was the same as the XK140, an in-line 6-cylinder engine capable of delivering 193 hp of power, it was front-mounted and had rear-wheel drive. The interior space was increased thanks to the lower thickness of the doors compared to the bigger sister and the dashboard was covered in leather.

This wonderful example in Red FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) version with Red leather interior was delivered new in New York in 1960 and was imported to Italy in 1990. It is characterised by its powerful and reliable 3.8L and 223 hp engine coupled with a brilliant 4-speed + reverse mechanical gearbox and a powerful braking system consisting of 4 Dunlop disc brakes and finally its unmistakable spoked wheels with wing nuts. Only 4101 units of this model were produced. This says a lot about the success that this car enjoyed at the time of its production. Being in front of such a beautifully preserved car still arouses the same feelings of elegance mixed with sportiness. In addition, you will be driving a car that is 60 years old and shows just half of it. This particular model was purchased in 2010 in Turin by Bepi Koelliker.
