Sold in 1956 by the dealer P.J. Evans of Birmingham, England, this XK 140 RHD was delivered in cream color with red interior. As specified by the letter S which precedes its serial number, it was a "special equipment" version equipped with a Type C cylinder head. It was in 1995 that our gentleman driver acquired it, and the same year, he had the bodywork repainted. In 1997, the upholstery was completely restored in red leather, integrating more enveloping seats and harnesses. In 2012, the engine was given to Retro Roadster for dismantling and overhaul. On this occasion, the gearbox was also dismantled and overhauled. It may be worth noting that the engine is equipped with a high-performance starter, an electric fuel pump, electronic ignition, and an additional fan. In 2015, an aluminum fuel tank and improved torsion bars were fitted, while the axle benefited from a reinforced axle nose tulip and a light alloy rear sump. Equipped with four disc brakes and power steering, this elegant coupe drives well. Immobile for a year, it will need to be serviced before being driven.
