Description
"The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was actually more aerodynamic with the last one being produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been manufactured during a 21 year production life. Power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission but the manual gearbox was soon dropped. V12 engine cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph.This low mileage V12 XJS Convertible was first registered on 1st September 1989 and is presented in British Racing Green with Biscuit leather interior and lattice alloy wheels. The wood cappings have all been replaced and the interior is a comfortable place to be. The history file demonstrates a good level of care with recent invoices for a new water pump and advisories on MoT certificates appear to have been corrected in a timely fashion. The last service was carried out by Nene Jaguar specialists in Peterborough at 43,022 miles and this example has a valid MoT certificate until February 2019. The splendid colour combination is very pleasing and these XJS's make fabulous touring classics; with a lovely low mileage believed to be accurate this would represent a good investment and a great way to enjoy this and many more summers motoring."
