UK RHD, 4.2L XK Straight-6, 4-Speed Manual Gearbox, Signal Red Paint, 15" 72 Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels, Chrome Bumpers with Overriders, Black Leather/Vinyl Upholstery, Pop Out Rear Windows, Dash Clock, Interior Map Light

Embodying an era of elegance and innovation in British motoring the flowing, uninterrupted form of the Jaguar E-Type is still revered as one of the most gorgeous vehicles to grace the roads.

Presented in its factory designated finish of Signal Red this Series 2 is no exception, with the vibrant shade and contrasting chrome details perfectly capturing the Fixed Head Coupe's alluring shape, drawing the eye from the sweeping long nose to the sumptuous rear end.

Overall the paintwork presents with good depth and an even shine, with some minor signs of age now starting to show, whilst the chrome work shows with a bright finish and just a few spots of fading throughout.

Perfectly contrasting the bright red coachwork the black upholstery of the interior of the E-Type is a simple but stunning space. Low slung seats provide a comfortable seating positing, with the thin rimmed 3-spoke steering wheel and rounded gearstick at perfect arms reach for the driver solidifying the cars sporting intentions.

Designed predominantly as a GT car the rear space of this fixed head coupe consumed by full length luggage deck rather than the more common 2+2 layout, providing plentiful space for a weekly shop or European road trip.

Utilising Jaguars legendary XK Inline-6 engine the E-Type can trace its roots back to some of the most successful racecars in history, with smaller capacity versions found in the D-Type as well as a number of Lister vehicles and even the Formula Libre racing series.

Fitted with a later 4.2L engine this Series 2 example still feels fast on the road; producing 265bhp it manages 0-60mph in just 7 seconds and can go onto a top speed in excess on 150mph. Paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox the end result it a captivating drivers car, made all the more special by the glorious rasp of the XK motor.

Mechanically the car seems to be in good order, with recent work exceeding a £2.5k spend which included a full service, tune, new radiator and more.

Rounding off the classic style of the E-Type are a set of 15 x 6 inch 72 spoke wire wheels, which present with a mirror finish to perfectly contrast the Signal Red paintwork. Adorning each corner is a set of period correct Avon Radical tyres with plenty of tread, to ensure authentic ride and feel.

Manufactured on 06/08/1969 this wonderful Jaguar E-Type was 1 of just 1,070 RHD Series 2 FHC cars produced, and was sold to the first owner by Byatts Jaguar on 01/01/1970, as confirmed on a factory build sheet present with the car. Further details are also confirmed including the factory fitted 4-speed manual gearbox and the original combination of black upholstery and Signal Red paintwork which the car still retains.

Servicing and maintenance of the car is outlined in a detailed history file which shows thousands of pounds worth of invoices as early as 1987, and includes details of a respray by specialist Martin Robey which appears to have extended into an almost complete restoration of the car. More recent work includes mechanical work with specialists Moonwhizz on 21/09/2019 which included a new radiator and overhaul of the cooling system, full service including gearbox, an engine tune and a number of other parts, with an invoice totalling in excess of £2,800.

Unlike many examples this E-Type has been cherished for long periods by its owners and as such is thought to be just a 4 owner car from new, with the names and ownership of the car traceable throughout checks with the DVLA and the vehicles history file. As such the car presents as a useable, well loved example, ready for the next owner to put their own stamp on.

Present with the car is an extensive history file, Jaguar factory spec sheet and V5.
