Description

1965 Jaguar E-Type Reborn
Series One 4.2 Coupe
Restored by Jaguar Classic

Conceived to deliver the purest E-type driving experience, with a handful of perfectly judged enhancements. The result is the ultimate E-type for the modern day; iconic, authentic and exclusive.

Famously launched in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type was an instant sensation when it was unveiled to the press and public. As a direct replacement to the XK150, the new E-Type Roadster and Fixed Head Coupe were the car to have at the dawn of the swinging sixties. Jaguar founder Sir William Lyons had an instant hit on his hands and found himself dealing with calls from celebrities and VIP’s to beat the predicted delivery schedules in the first few months of production. The original Series 1 Roadster and Coupe are regarded as perfect from every angle and even caught the eye of Enzo Ferrari who is quoted as saying “the new E-Type is most beautiful car in the world.”
Every E-type Reborn restoration is flawlessly produced according to its original 1960s factory specification. Unique access to build records and original drawings held by Jaguar Heritage Trust, combined with the team’s experience in restoration and world class facilities at Classic Works, ensure absolute authenticity. Jaguar Classic Parts are used throughout and re-engineered where required using the latest CAD techniques. This maximises the vehicle’s quality, longevity and collectability.
Our car, chassis 1E20139, was completed by Jaguar Classic in 2019 and presented in its original colours of Opalescent Silver Grey with red hides. Having just covered 400 miles since the restoration this example is barely run in.
The restoration process is fully detailed and illustrated in a substantial hardback book that accompanies the car, suffice it to say every aspect was covered. A number of subtle upgrades have been included as advised including multi spoke competition chrome wire wheels, upgraded brakes, suspension and cooling system, a very clever hidden efficient air conditioning system and Jaguars own retro entertainment system incorporating navigation, Bluetooth, phone connectivity and modern radio.
This is a great opportunity to own a piece of Jaguar heritage.
