For its 50-year long career, the most famous of pony cars, the Ford Mustang, again made it to France. Adapted for the French market, the Mustang has since considerable success in France. The Mustang, launched in 1964, was aimed at a young audience with average incomes. Success was immediate, since it was the first affordable sport car to be launched in the US.
Shortly introduced in several bodies and levels of performance, it became the must have in the 1960s, with over 607,000 units ordered just for the year 1966! A tidal wave which soon conquered the cinema: the Mustang had a prominent part in the thriller "Bullitt" featuring Steve McQueen.
This sixth generation seems to be another success story in France; already 400 units have been sold since September. Cars are only available on a waiting list, with a delivery not before April 2016! The 2016 Mustang that we are offering is one of six decorated by artists from the world of photography, tattooing, fashion and design. This one was decorated by Alexandre Vautier, a fashion star, who has being dressing major American stars including Beyoncé or Madonna! It is in mint condition and has obviously only covered a dozen kilometers since leaving the factory. It is powered by Ford's state-of-the-art 2.3L EcoBoost engine, which also powers the Ford Focus RS. With turbocharging the max power is 317bhp, and max torque is 432Nm. Ours is equipped with a highly efficient manual gearbox.
So not only is one getting a 2016 Mustang today, but one that is decorated by one of the major stars of fashion! You won't need to wait for April to get a Mustang!
Alexandre Vauthier, joined Thierry Mugler's studio at the end of his studies where discovered the complexity and rigor of the fashion world. Then he became head designer at Jean-Paul Gaultier's, where he stayed for eight years, before creating the brand that bears his name, in 2009. The radical cuts, the rigor and precision that characterize his style are anchored in the French fashion culture, but with a strong Anglo-Saxon influence too. His collaborations include ready-to-wear, special costumes, perfumes, music, even interior design. As he puts it: "I would like to mark the car with my identity and the design code of the house. We try to create a balance between speed, form, design and noble materials. Completely dismantled, the car will receive new colours and materials that evoke those used today in the world of fashion."
