Description

An entirely new design, the 458 Italia debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2009 and immediately stood as the sportiest V-8 model in the Ferrari lineup. Featuring edgy Pininfarina styling influenced by the Enzo and 2007 Millechili concept car, the 458 Italia incorporated F1- derived aerodynamic aids, magnetic dampers, E-Diff, F1-Trac, and other systems yielding phenomenal handling and performance.

The uprated 458 Speciale debuted at Frankfurt in 2013. Updates were many, including its forged wheels, vented bonnet, finned side sills, taller rear spoiler, and redesigned bumpers with active aerodynamics designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre in collaboration with Pininfarina, plus movable flaps front and rear to balance downforce and reduce aerodynamic drag. The engine was uprated to produce 597 hp at 9,000 rpm. Updated electronic systems included Side Slip Angle Control (SSC), integrated with F1-Trac traction control and torque distribution with the E-Diff (electronic differential). Generating 1.33 g of lateral acceleration on the skid pad, the 458 Speciale closely approached the F12 Berlinetta’s lap times on Ferrari’s Fiorano test track.

Unveiled at the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 458 Speciale Aperta (alternatively referred to as the “458 SA”) was the open variant of the 458 Speciale. Production was limited to just 499 examples. As with the 458 Speciale coupe, the 458 Speciale Aperta featured Ferrari’s 597 hp 4.5-liter, naturally aspirated V-8 engine. Capable of accelerating from rest to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds and reaching 199 mph flat out, the 458 SA was the most powerful naturally aspirated open road-going Ferrari until the advent of the LaFerrari Aperta in 2017.

Finished in yellow with prominent blue and white stripes and Ferrari Scuderia shields over blue Alcantara interior upholstery, this 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta was delivered new on December 12, 2015. The Ferrari’s exterior is protected by a full clear bra and it comes to auction with only 979 miles traveled at the time of cataloguing. According to the window sticker, this 458 SA is enhanced by the suspension lift system, blue brake calipers, titanium exhaust pipes, and carbon fiber for the front and rear flaps, outer B-post, and side nolders. Inside, competition-style, yet luxurious Alcantara covers the central tunnel, dashboard, and headliner. Colored floor mats with Ferrari logos, colored safety belts, and embroidered headrests with Ferrari’s iconic Cavallino Rampante motif round out this impressive 458 SA. In addition to service records issued by Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island, New York, additional items include a car cover and battery charger. Most recently, the 458 SA was serviced during January 2020, under Ferrari’s seven-year-prepaid maintenance program. Rare and aggressively beautiful, it is ready to enjoy, con brio!
