Description

The Ferrari 365 GTB4, unofficially known as the Daytona in recognition of Ferrari’s famous win at the 1967 Daytona 24-hour race, is one of the true high-performance front engine Ferrari V12 legends. A well-balanced chassis due to the rear transaxle layout, a daring modern design by Pinninfarina and an upgraded 4.4l V12 engine fed by six Weber twin choke carbs resulted in an impressive package capable of sustained high-speed travel up to the top speed of 280km/h

There were an estimated 1406 examples produced with 160 Right Hand Drive Coupe’s and of those, only 40 were Plexi Glass cars, which are the most desirable and achieve the highest sales values.

This particular example was delivered new in the UK to Grand Prix team owner and Whiskey Heir, Rob Walker and comes with detailed documentation authenticating this and in addition has received Ferrari Classiche certification. In the late 1980’s, it was sold by Talacrest to Singapore following a major restoration. A South African enthusiast purchased the car in 2012 from Singapore. On arrival in South Africa a bare metal restoration was commissioned at Carrozzeria Viglietti under the supervision of Ivano Sega. The original Cromadoras rims where replaced with the Borranni wire wheel. The originals do still come with the car.

This is rare opportunity to own a highly desirable and rare Plexi Glass Ferrari 365 GTB/4 in superb condition.
