Description

When the 360 Modena was nearly four years old Ferrari wanted to homologate some improvements for their GTC racer and thus the 360 Challenge Stradale was introduced. The Challenge Stradale weighs in at just 20kg more than the Challenge and a staggering 110 Kg less than a standard Modena resulting in a dramatic performance increase. The Stradale features a host of aero and mechanical refinements that combine to make it 3.5 seconds faster around Fiorano than an ordinary Modena.
Modifications include, Carbon Ceramic brakes as standard, a 50% lighter multi-axial carbon floor plan, a 25 BHP increase in power, aerodynamic tweaks allowing for up to 50% more vertical loading (including a different bumper, boot lid and sills as well as venturi ducts at the rear), carbon racing seats with 4 point harnesses, a stripped-out interior with Alcantara dash and carbon door cards as standard and an F1 gearbox with shift times of just 150 milliseconds to name but a few. A road going Challenge car in truest form, and a model for the discerning collector that started the lightweight V8 family of Ferraris.
This example was delivered new in June 2003, to then head of Scuderia Ferrari Jean Todt, a mere three months after its reveal at Geneva. As one of the earliest delivered examples, it is believed to be one of the first 10 cars produced. As originally optioned the car is presented in Argento Nurburgring over Nero Leather seats, this example benefits from the optional radio and a Giallo rev counter.
No stripe from factory makes this a remarkably elegant and classical specification. This 360CS has had five fully documented owners from new. Todt retained the car for two years, selling the car to its second owner in Milan. A year later the car was purchased by another collector in northern Italy who would keep the car for a further eight years. In 2014 the car was exported to Denmark where it would remain until its purchase by the current owner in 2018.
Seeing limited use from its current and previous owner, the car has covered a mere 600km since 2016. At the time of purchase by the current owner, DK inspected the car and prepared it for storage, looking after it in our secure facility. The car has since been serviced with us, most recently in September 2019. Today the car presents with 35,900 km, making for a completely usable Challenge Stradale with superb provenance in an elegant colour combination.
This example is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
