THIS CAR
Unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Auto Show, Ferrari’s refined new 330 GTC was a svelte, high-speed coupe for two, with luxurious and spacious passenger accommodations to match, in the finest Ferrari grand touring tradition. The light, airy roof utilized exceptionally thin pillars and offered remarkably good visibility.

Power was provided by a Colombo-derived, four-liter V-12 engine with a trio of twin-choke Weber carburetors and a single overhead camshaft per cylinder bank delivering an impressive 300 bhp output. The utilization of a rear-mounted five-speed transaxle endowed the 330 GTC with near-perfect weight distribution and excellent handling characteristics. About 600 examples of the 330 GTC were produced through 1968, when the 365 GTC succeeded it.

Documented by noted Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, this 330 GTC, chassis no. 09237, was originally finished in silver with black leather upholstery. During 1966, it was sold by official Ferrari dealer M. Gastone Crepaldi S.a.s to its first owner, known now only as Mr. Ardemagni, a resident of Milan. During the early 1970s, 09237 was exported to the US and repainted red. In 1975, 09237 was under the ownership of Fred Coder of St. Joseph, Missouri, followed by Bruce Clemons, of Topeka, Kansas. In 1979, 09237 passed from Mr. Clemons to William Kline, of Waterloo, Iowa. The Ferrari’s first documented show appearance took place at the July 1979 FCA National Meeting at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Mr. Kline retained the Ferrari through 1982, with the 330 GTC described at the time as having traveled 67,000 km (about 41,600 miles). In February 1983, 09237 was sold to George and Cheryl Walker of High Point, North Carolina. By 1986, Thomas W. Harrow of New York City was listed as the car’s owner. In 1997, the Ferrari was advertised as having had a thorough restoration with a yellow paint finish and 5,000 miles since the work was completed.

In 2007, the consignor acquired the vehicle and treated it to a comprehensive restoration. The work spanned the years 2008 through 2010, and included returning the coupe to its original color scheme of Argento (25090A, Silver) with black leather upholstery. Following the completion of the restoration, the GTC has been a reliable weekly driver for the owner and his family. The consignor has owned more than a dozen Enzo-era Ferraris over the years, so this GTC has been in knowledgeable, respectful hands. Offered with books and tools, 09237 remains a handsome example of one of Ferrari’s most attractive and capable grand touring cars of the 1960s, blessed with wonderful balance and legendary V-12 performance.
