Description

Produced at the end of 1962 in the very desirable color "Azzuro Metallizzato" with natural leather interior, this Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series II has been delivered new in France in February 1963 by Franco Britannic. It has been exported to the US in 1981 and appeared in the 90's in the USA in the hands of Jim Francis and then Paul Tavilla in Fort Lauderdale. It has been then offered for sale in 1996 by Cosmopolitan Motors, Seattle. Then by Dragone Classic in Bridgeport. In 2005 it has been imported back to France and acquired by C. Chavy, a great collector of Maranello vehicles, with 62.500 km on the odometer. He didn't keep the car for long and sold it through a Parisian dealer to the current owner in 2006. This last owner, running an established classic car workshop, did cherish the car until today. At the end of 2012 he had the engine rebuilt by Etablissements Harper in Longpont-sur-Orge for an amount in excess of 40.000 € : complete dismantling of the engine, replacement of the pistons ordered from Ferrari, unleaded conversion for the cylinder head, new clutch and overhaul of the overdrive. The car had 70.000km then and totals 79.000km as of today. It's offered for sale with its complete vintage tool kit, Borrani rims, and user's manual. This wonderful car, whose interior has been refurbished many years ago, has a superb patina. Without any trace of shocks or corrosion, equipped with its headlights and Marchal 610 fog lights, this car is in a very nice original condition, both mechanically and aesthetically.
