Während einer Reise in die Schweiz fasste der amerikanische Industrielle und Rennfahrer Edwards America, inspiriert von einer Begegnung mit einem Cisitalia Mille Miglia, den Entschluss, einen amerikanischen GT zu konstruieren. Mit dem Bau wurde Phil Remington beauftragt, der später als Schöpfer des legendären Ford GT 40 Geschichte schrieb. Der Edwards America wurde in San Francisco von Hand gebaut und kombinierte europäische Stileinflüsse mit bewährter US-Großserientechnik.

Das hier angebotene Edwards America Sport Coupé ist das 2. von nur 5 jemals gebauten Fahrzeugen. In den letzten 61 Jahren sind nur 5 Besitzer dokumentiert. Es handelt sich um ein weitgehend unberührtes Fahrzeug mit geringer Laufleistung, das seit vielen Jahren Teil der Ausstellung des berühmten Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles ist.

Description:

During a trip to Switzerland, the American industrialist and racing driver Edwards America was inspired by a Cisitalia Mille Miglia and decided to construct an American GT. Phil Remington, who later made history as the creator of the legendary Ford GT 40, was assigned to build it. The Edwards America was hand built in San Francisco and combined European car design with proven US series production technology.

The Edwards America Sport Coupé offered here is the 2nd of only 5 cars ever made. In the last 61 years only 5 owners are known. documented. It is in a largely untouched condition with low mileage and has been part of the exhibition of the famous Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles for many years.

This Edwards America is a unique collector's item and particularly interesting for any high-class and exceptional collection!
