Description

Unregistered

- A high level model
- Complete body
- Eight-cylinder engine
- No reserve

Purchased on 27 June 1967 from Serge Pozzoli, along with several other automobiles, this Delaunay-Belleville was previously registered in the Saône et Loire region and is typical of the large limousines from the early 1930s, although it has no longer the same aesthetic and technical originality that Delaunays from the early part of the century. The car is powered by a Continental engine, an in-line eight-cylinder 4.0-liter side-valve unit with generous torque, enough to propel this car of considerable heft. This interesting and rare car has its original body and the dashboard seems complete, but it lacks most of the glasses though. We also noted that the base of the driver's seat was missing. The rear section comes equipped with folding seats, characteristic of a luxury limousine, and the windshield is topped with a damaged top section. Delaunay-Belleville was a marque recognized for its quality and standard of finish. This upscale VL8 deserves a restoration that will take it back to its former luster.
