There are very few Citroën DS's around today which have not undergone restorations and the example presented is precisely one of them. This barn find car is exactly as it was when it was bought at the Rétromobile show during the Artcurial Motorcars sale by its current owner, a selective collector of Citroën excited by its original condition.
Registered in 30 April 1965 on a company's name from the Somme region, this convertible is one of the last "factory" versions of the DS19 series. It was owned from 1968 by a plumber from Normandy who following a rear impact in the 1970s, stored the car in a barn with plans to restore it. This project was never carried out and it was around forty years later that it came out of oblivion. Today, the car needs a complete restoration which will allow it to regain its elegant dark grey livery with red leather interior. Its upholstery remained in a beautifully patinated condition and it can be perfectly retained after a thorough cleansing.
This beautiful convertible is part of the series equipped with the hydraulic gearbox of which a mere 40 cars left the factory in 1965 and its odometer shows 78,487 km. Coming from Switzerland, it will be delivered with its old French title whereas duties and taxes will be at the buyer's costs depending on their own country.
Today the car is highly prized by collectors for its elegance and avant-garde style. This model benefits from a sustained rating which will make a quality restoration possible. Authenticity, original condition, clear history ... all qualities that make this convertible highly desirable.

Lot from outside the EU: In addition to the commissions and taxes indicated above, an additional import VAT will be charged (5,5% of the hammer price for vintage/classic cars, 20% newer/modern motorcars).
