Description

Powered by a 6.2L supercharged V8, paired to a 7-speed manual gearbox, the Corvette C7 Z06 is a true driving enthusiast alternative. Producing 650bhp, the 2016 Z06 was the powerful Corvette produced to date. The C7.R edition was built as a homage to Chevrolets continued victories at Le Mans and in the American Le Mans Series; the affixed plaque highlighting no fewer than 7 Le Mans GT Class wins and 10 manufacturer titles. With just 500 examples produced, the C7.R edition sold out at launch, a testament to the brands many motorsport successes.

The closest to a race car specification that road legislation allows, the Z06 performance package includes Brembo Ceramic-Matrix brake rotors, that work to improve braking and reduce un-sprung mass. Adjustable front and rear aerodynamic components provide unprecedented downforce, whilst the C7.R edition is fitted with Michelin PS Cup 2 tyres to appropriately deploy 650bhp.

Uniquely numbered and built on sequential chassis numbers, this car is 129/500. Finished in the Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat with the full C7.R Edition graphics package, a direct link to the ALMS racers.  The C7.R edition features a number of unique features, elevating it above other Corvette models. The exterior receives extensive Carbon Fibre additions (with varying angles and setups accompanying the car that can be exchanged), including the introduction of Visible Carbon Fibre to the bonnet and to the ground effects package. Inside, the Jet Black leather interior is highlighted with sueded microfibre accents to the instrument panel and doors; the steering wheel and gear stick are also trimmed in the upgraded material. Visible Carbon Fibre sees extensive use in the cabin too for a much higher quality feel overall.

This example was purchased new from Dimitt Chevrolet of Clearwater Florida in 2016 where it remained and was used by the owner when in the USA; subsequently, they imported it to the UK and it has remained with its sole owner here in the UK since the start of 2018. The car received UK specification lights and passed an IVA in June 2018 affording UK registration. Since its arrival, the car has been serviced by American car & Corvette specialists, Ian Allan Motors of Surrey.

In 2016, the year this car was launched, Corvette fielded a 4-car entry at Le Mans. This example has been kept as part of a large collection of the driver of one of those very cars. At the helm of #57, the owner of this example finished 9th in class as he made his debut at the famed French circuit. DK Engineering are proud to have sponsored the car and his efforts in the race.

This Corvette C7.R today presents with just 5,050 miles from new. Most recently serviced in August 2019, this example is ‘on the button’, ready to be enjoyed and available to view at our showrooms just outside London immediately.
