Description

As the decades have passed, Chevrolet has taken advantage of multiple milestones to introduce commemorative editions of America’s sports car, the Corvette. Typically blending the best features of multiple models or utilizing a retro theme, these limited-production runs have created a vastly collectible array of models for the Corvette connoisseur.

The C6 Corvette was introduced in 2005 and was, by all accounts, a sales success. Utilizing the 400 hp LS2 small-block V-8 as its base engine, the C6 was a performance bargain and offered capabilities unmatched at its price point, a Corvette hallmark. As the years passed, Chevrolet introduced variants with additional features and performance in the 505 hp Z06 and 638 hp ZR1. For the final year of C6 production the Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition was offered, which seamlessly blended the LS7 from the Z06, and bodywork featuring carbon fiber hood and fenders. All Collector Edition cars were fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox and original owners were offered the option to purchase the Corvette Build Experience, which allowed them to travel to Chevrolet’s Performance Build Center and assemble the engine for their car.

This Corvette 427 60th Anniversary Convertible was purchased by the consignor in 2013 as its first private owner after the car had been retained by Chevrolet. In addition to its incredible specification, this example is also fitted with the 60th Anniversary package, which was available on any Corvette produced for the 2013 model year, and includes Arctic White paint with a Blue Diamond leather and suede interior. A ZR1 rear spoiler was standard, and on convertible models the also-standard racing stripes were carried into the fabric soft top for a truly unique appearance.

Showing just 8,357 miles at the time of cataloguing, this American legend offers everything that could be desired by an enthusiast in 2013 and stands as a collectible and extraordinary example of the creative thinking behind the world’s most desirable Corvettes.
