What’s unique about this Corvette is its plastic bodywork. The first Corvette was built in Flint, Michigan, on 30 June 1953, in a corner of the factory where other Chevrolet models were made. The 1953 Corvette had a 3.8L six-cylinder in-line engine with 150 hp. Because all Corvettes were made by hand and the production of a car with a plastic body was actually at an experimental stage, only 300 units were manufactured that year. The price was $3,734 which was twice as much as a "regular" Chevrolet model cost. All 1953 Corvettes were white with a red interior.

Only 3,640 units were produced in 1954, the second year of production, this makes this Corvette a true collectible. The Corvette C1 is seen less and less often and is becoming a rarity on the streets.

The Corvette’s 150 HP blue flame engine and light plastic body provide enough power! The engine was overhauled by the previous owner 8 years ago. The red interior still looks very fresh as can be seen in the pictures, this is of course also the right colour combination for a '53-'54 Corvette. The Corvette has good Polo White paint, except for some beauty flaws (see photos).
