The Model: When Chevrolet released the “Task Force” era of commercial vehicles in mid-year 1955, they were not just utilitarian vehicles made to do work. These trucks could be dressed up and made pretty enough to take your best girl out to dinner or arrive at the country club. With the “frenched” headlights, stylish and functional front grille and even a cab that had style and flair, these new trucks set the industry standard. Chevrolet offered a long list of options from chrome grille and bumpers to “picture window” back glass, Under the hood, the most popular engine in the light-duty vehicles remained the trustworthy inline six. There was plenty of power and torque and those who knew pickups knew that speed wasn’t everything, it was what you could and tow and hauling power that mattered. One of the most popular commercial lines ever produced, the 1955 Chevrolets were built to last.

The Car: This is one sweet pickup that has been given a beautiful custom finish of white over copper metallic. The sheet metal on this rig is solid and well-appointed with chrome bumpers to the front and rear as well as that massive front grille. It features the wraparound back glass that lets the driver have a larger perspective of the traffic around them. One of the most novel features is the bedside mounted spare tire. However, if you are not a fan of this feature, included in the package is a spare rear, left fender, already painted to match, that deletes this outside spare. Under the hood is the trustworthy Blue Flame Six, basically in stock form except for the Fenton split exhaust manifold which allows this truck to keep up with modern traffic. Our consignor says the wood in the floor of the bed is beyond fresh, it is flawless.
