Any lover of photography and cinematography equipment has heard of the Angénieux optical objectives, precision fitted at the time for the best of cameras. It is therefore interesting to learn that the Buick on offer was sold new to Mr. Angénieux on February 11, 1955, through Autohall. This car is a Roadmaster convertible, equipped with a V8 developing over 200bhp and an automatic two-speed transmission to drive it.
In 1976, Mr. Angénieux sold this car to its second owner, an individual living in Saint- Etienne, who in turn sold the car in 2000 to its current owner. It has been beautifully and completely restored in the last owner's workshop. It was completely disassembled and received an overhaul according to the rules of the art, for both bodywork and mechanicals. The automatic transmission was also rebuilt, with the restoration ending in 2006. The interior has received the same care: red leather upholstery has been restored as originally and red carpets are now on the floor. Luxuriously equipped, this car has electric windows, a rarity at that period. The hood, which is new, is also electrically controlled and the steering is assisted. With its powerful V8, its abundant chromes, its opulent equipment and its body with generous dimensions, this Buick is perfectly emblematic of the "American way of life" of the 1950s and 1960s, a carefree time of renewal and prosperity. This four-seater convertible is a promise of relaxed drives, enjoying the nice weather and controlled flexibility of its large engine. It is rare to find American cars in such a state, with attention focused on restoring details. We love the U.S. and if we have selected this car for sale, the reasons are clear when you see this magnificent machine in such an impressive and immaculate condition.
